Antibiotics

B-Lactam antibiotics: Cephalosporins, Penicillin, b-Monobactams, Lactamase inhibitors

Aminoglycosides: Neomycin, Streptomycin, Kanamycin

Tetracyclines: Tetracycline, Oxytetracycline, Chlortetracycline, Minocycline, Doxycycline

Unit 2

Antibiotics

Background History, nomenclature, & Stereochemistry. The connection between structure & activity degradation classification, as well as the most significant product from these categories.

Macrolide: Clarithromycin, Erythromycin, Azithromycin.

Miscellaneous: Clindamycin, Chloramphenicol.

Prodrugs: Fundamental concepts & applications of design for the prodrugs.

Malaria-fighting medications: & the root causes of Malaria.

Quinolines: SAR, Chloroquine, Quinine sulfate, Amodiaquine, Primaquine phosphate, Pamaquine, Quinacrine hydrochloride, and Mefloquine.

Anti-tubercular antibiotics: Rifabutin, Rifampicin, Cyclomerize Streptomycin, Capreomycin sulfate. 

Anti-infective medicines for urinary tract infection

Quinolones: SAR quinolones, Norfloxacin, Nalidixic Acid, Enoxacin, Ciprofloxacin, Ofloxacin, Lomefloxacin, Sparfloxacin, Gemifloxacin, Moxifloxacin

Miscellaneous: Nitrofurantoin, Furazolidone, Methenamine.

Antiviral agents: Rimantadine hydrochloride, Amantadine hydrochloride, Idoxuridine trifluoride, Acyclovir, Ganciclovir, Zidovudine, Didanosine, Zalcitabine, Lamivudine, Loviride, Delavirdine, Ribavirin, Saquinavir, Indinavir, Ritonavir.

Unit 4

Antifungal agents:

Antifungal antibiotics: Nystatin, Amphotericin-B, Natamycin, Griseofulvin. 

Synthetic Antifungal agents: Econazole, Clotrimazole, Butoconazole, Oxiconazole Tioconazole, Miconazole, Ketoconazole, Terconazole, Itraconazole, Fluconazole, Naftifine hydrochloride, Tolnaftate. 

Anti-protozoal Agents: Tinidazole, Metronidazole, Ornidazole, Diloxanide, Iodoquinol, Pentamidine Isethionate, Atovaquone, Eflornithine.

Anthelmintics: Thiabendazole, Diethylcarbamazine citrate, Mebendazole, Albendazole, Nicolaides, Oxamniquine, Praziquantel, Ivermectin.

Sulphonamides & Sulfones

The development of chemical compounds as well as classification of the development of historical as well as SAR Sulfonamides: Sulphathiazole, Sulfisoxazole, Sulphathiazole, Sulfacetamide, Sulphapyridine, Sulfamethoxazole, Sulphadiazine, Mafenide acetate, Sulfasalazine.
