Unit I

General Pharmacology

•  Introduction to Pharmacology – Definition of historic landmarks, the scope of pharmacology and the source of drugs, fundamental drugs concepts and methods of administration, antagonists, Agonists (competition and non-competitive) and spare receptors, dependence, tolerance, addiction, and tachyphylaxis. Also, idiosyncrasy allergies. 
• Pharmacokinetics- Membrane transportation absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination of drugs. Enzyme induction, inhibition of enzymes elimination kinetics

Unit 2

• Pharmacodynamics – Principles, and mechanisms of the action of drugs. Theories of the receptor and classification of their receptors control of receptors. Drug receptors interactions and signals transduction mechanisms, G protein-coupled receptors Ion channel receptor transmembrane enzyme-linked receptors. JAK-STAT binding molecule and receptors regulate transcription factors’ therapeutic index, effects of drugs, as well as factors that alter the action of drugs.

• Blockers of neuromuscular activity as well as skeletal muscle relaxation agents (peripheral).

Unit 4

The effects of pharmaceuticals on the Central nervous system.
